As you know, Royal Mail staff are taking national strike action on several dates between October and December, affecting various areas of the service.
What is the shipping process at mind the cork?
Royal Mail picks up packages from the studio around three times a week.
There is a delivery depot and a post office very close by, so I often drop off any additional orders between pick-ups.
How will the strikes affect your order?
There's the obvious - fewer pick-ups, depot closures, reduced opening times, and longer delivery times. In addition, there will likely be delays outside of strike dates, particularly in the days immediately following industrial action.
The delivery dates estimated at the checkout are displayed automatically based on usual Royal Mail delivery times. Please allow more time to receive your order.
What am I doing to expedite the delivery process?
While I cannot guarantee a delivery date, I will ship your order as early as possible (often the same day) and in advance of the strike dates.
Tracked 48 - which you'll be able to track, as usual, on royalmail.com/track-your-item, but is likely to have longer delays.
Tracked 24 - RECOMMENDED. Royal Mail are prioritising this service so it will have less of a delay.
International Delivery - will be shipped via Royal Mail International Tracked, which is fully tracked to the delivery point.
What can you do to help?
Now more than ever, your support is invaluable. I know that you are likely shopping for gifts at this time of year, and I want to ensure I am doing all I can to get your orders delivered as quickly as possible, and there are a few things you can do to help:
- Shop as early as you can to avoid disappointment.
- If you need something delivered urgently (it happens!) email me at hello@mindthecork.com and I may be able to arrange an alternative courier.
- Shop in person. This won't be possible for everyone, but if you are in London, I am doing Open Studios on Sat 26 + Sun 27 November, and a the Beautiful and Useful craft fair at the Garden Museum on the 4 December.
NEXT NATIONWIDE STRIKE DAYS
Tuesday 25 October 2022
Monday 28 November 2022
There will be additional strike dates affecting different Royal Mail services (Processing, Distribution, Admin, Collections, etc), that are likely to have a knock-on effect on your orders:
2 - 4, 8 - 10, 14 - 16, 23 - 26 and 30 November 2022
1, 2, 9, 11, 14, 15 December 2022 (updated on 3 Dec 2022)
I am doing my utmost to keep up to date with Royal Mail announcements and adapting as necessary. I feel it is also important to say that while the strike action puts a spanner in the works, I stand in complete solidarity with all Royal Mail workers taking part in the strike action.
